I’m a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, artist, and producer originally from Maine, now based in Nashville, Tennessee. I’m the person behind Honk Stu, a recording studio built around authenticity, creativity, and accessibility.

I’ve been producing, recording, and releasing my own music since 2018. Back in Maine, I ran a studio out of my barn, where I spent years developing my sound and learning the ins and outs of production. When I relocated to Nashville, I brought that same studio setup and spirit with me — once again running Honk Stu out of a barn, just with a Tennessee backdrop.

I’m proficient in a variety of instruments including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drum kit, bass guitar, piano, and percussion. That versatility allows me to work with artists at every stage of the process — from songwriting and arranging to recording, production, mixing, and mastering.

My philosophy is simple: music doesn’t have to be perfect, it has to be authentic. If a song calls for real instruments, that’s what we’ll focus on capturing. If it calls for samples or textures, the goal is to find sounds that still feel real and true to the artist. Everything I do is centered around helping artists make music that genuinely represents who they are.

I offer recording, production, mixing, mastering, rehearsal space, content creation, and more, all with the goal of helping artists create professional, release-ready music.

Nashville is full of incredible studios, but many of them come with price tags that can be intimidating for independent artists. I started Honk Stu to be an alternative — a place where artists can create high-quality music without breaking the bank.

I believe music creation should be accessible to everyone. Honk Stu is built to be a studio for the people — whether you're recording your first song, developing your sound, or finishing your next release.

My Approach

My approach to music is rooted in authenticity. Every artist and every song is different, and I believe the recording process should reflect that. Sometimes that means capturing a live band in the room, sometimes it means layering sounds piece by piece. As a multi-instrumentalist and producer, I like to stay flexible and follow where the music wants to go. The goal is always the same: create something that feels real and represents the artist honestly.

Simple ideas

Great music often starts with a simple idea. A chord progression, a melody, a lyric, or even just a feeling can become the foundation for something powerful. I focus on helping artists build from those core ideas without overcomplicating the process. When the foundation is strong, the production can grow naturally around it.

Lasting impact

Music has the power to stick with people for years. My goal with every project is to create songs that feel timeless — music that connects with listeners long after it’s released. Whether it’s a stripped-down acoustic track or a full production, the focus is always on making something meaningful that leaves a lasting impression.
